Healthy Work Awards 2007

Tell us about your healthy workplace - and win a trip to Japan!

Are you an employer, manager or HR professional who has implemented health initiatives to encourage staff wellbeing at work? Or are you an employee who has benefited from steps to encourage health within your workplace? If so, Yakult UK wants to hear from you!

In response to a recent survey revealing that 51% of employees consider their workplace an unhealthy environment, Yakult has launched the Healthy Workplace Awards, to find those organisations in the UK that actively support staff wellbeing.

This could be through subsidised gym membership, free healthy food, relaxation areas, office décor, yoga classes, social events or any other scheme dedicated to the health of the workforce.

As well as specific initiatives such as these, Yakult is keen to hear from workplaces involved in educating staff about maintaining a healthy lifestyle – either through health fairs, leaflets or internal communications. With research showing that only 21% of people take active measures to prevent themselves from catching a cold, it seems clear that health education can play a vital role in developing healthier workplaces and workforces.

The Awards scheme is open to all organisations in the UK – whether you work in an office, supermarket, factory or field, if you believe your workplace is a shining example to others, please get in touch! If your workplace is selected as the UK’s healthiest, you will win a trip for yourself and five colleagues to Japan, birthplace of Yakult. (Plus a month’s supply of Yakult to toast your good health, of course!)
